According to this site, not one but two Antiguan and Barbudan films will be screened at teh Jamaica Reggae Film Festival in May 2011.
Those films are the latest full length feature from HAMA, The Skin, and film short, Dinner, written and produced by Tameka Jarvis-George and directed by Chris Hodge of Cinque Productions. Check the link for details. And visit our Playwrights and Screenwriters page for more on these and other Antiguan and Barbudan writers in this medium.
Also visit here for more on Jarvis-George’s newest book and first novel Unexpected: described by the author as “easily identifiable to any woman who is West Indian or with West Indian or Caribbean heritage, but also by anyone who has stayed in a negative relations, one, two or three years past its expiration date”. Incidentally, this is a stark contrast to Dinner, based on a loving and sensual poem from one of Jarvis-George’s earlier collections.
