Things that make you go hmmmm

This book is on the children’s list on this site but further research has turned up this article that questions the books’ (apparently it’s a whole series of books) agenda specifically on the question of religion, the way it seems to malign other religious traditions in favour of Christianity. Makes me wonder what’s in the one set in Antigua. This is what the blurb says:

“Eight-year-old Hope and her family travel to Antigua where they meet a descendant of slaves, learn that God is worshipped differently in different places, and find a long-hidden treasure.”

…has anyone read it? if so, what’re your thoughts?
