St. John’s Lutheran School (Antigua) Opens New Library

And here’s a roll call of the folks who helped them do it:

The Edge
Generis Jarvis
Hands Across the Sea
Inizio
Joseph Electronic
Kids Can
Kiwanis Club of Antigua
Lingies Lights and Windoors
Ronald James
The Scholastic Book Clubs
Swalings
Townhouse Mega Store
Wayne Bynoe

Plus church members and parents. In fact, the initiative was led by a small group of parents consisting of Cheryl Philip James, Leila Athill, Dewana Browne, and the school’s library coordinator Cindy Johnson.

I stopped by to show support and sign a copy of my first book The Boy from Willow Bend which I’d donated to the library (wish I could’ve done more) and to provide some coverage of the opening. Here are the pictures (the two in the middle are the ones they insisted on taking when I stopped by; but the meat is the top and bottom image, the ribbon cutting and the kids who the library will benefit standing in front of the indoor mural which forms part of the new library’s decor):
