Wadadli Pen Challenge 2016 – The Wrap – Getting There

Spent tonight clearing the inbox (today was the deadline for long listed writers to get their revised entries in). Responding, updating logs, saving, repeat. It really shouldn’t have taken as long as it did; but there you have it. Maybe I’m tired. Well, yes, I am tired but there is a certain amount of time and tedium to this portion of the work – everything has to be processed and logged to make tomorrow’s work easier.

Long and short of it, the finalists are off to the judges for ranking, after which awards prep can pick up momentum.

There’ll be certificates to be prepped, prizes to be collected, invitations to be sent, and then hopefully sooner rather than later we’ll get to the best part – smiling faces, winners all around and, assuming I get them prepped before the awards, winning stories will be posted.

I’m not going to lie, Wadadli Pen sucks a lot of time from life, including sleep, paying gigs, and hustling paying gigs, and I’m thankful to anyone who has been patient with me or supportive of me during this time – it’s been a rough time for reasons not Wadadli Pen – and I wish I was further along in the planning for moving Wadadli Pen into more self-sustaining territory and towards raising the kinds of funds needed to do more to help hone the potential revealed in the crop of entries – but we’re getting there.
